Highband’s senior management team is comprised of seasoned professionals representing in excess of forty five years of experience working for large Technology companies in India, and over twenty five years in technical development of systems.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

The management team is a combination of the two founders along with professionals who bring in their individual strengths to build a team with a single point mission of making Highband as the de facto leader in the area of eSecurity services. They have worked together before and are a committed team with a shared vision.
Highband is backed by very senior Angel Investors who have proven credentials in the global IT Industry. Mr. Manu Parpia and Mr. Ajit Shelat are the Directors on the Board of Highband and guide Highband team with their valuable experience.

D.S. (Atul) Khatavkar, CEO, Lear Auditor BS7799 , CISA

Atul is CISA and Lead Auditor on the panel of DNV for BS7799 certification. He started his career in 1987 in the telecom area and turned an entrepreneur after Six years of working there. He has experience of working in design, installation of large telecom networks. He has to his credit the pioneering efforts in the field of networking and has spent more than ten years designing and executing corporate networks. His experience in the networking field prompted him to think about the threats there in. That was the day when Atul decided to invest all the energy into eSecurity. He has been involved in certification audit for BS7799 at Eserve (Citigroup) GE Capital Services, TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc.

  

Nitin Kanade, CTO

Nitin is CISSP, CISM and has worked for Philips India and Godrej & Boyce in the technology arena for eleven years before he became a co-promoter of Highband in 1997. He has been responsible for all the technology initiatives at Highband and has been directing the delivery team in all assignments. He has been doing extensive research in the area of eSecurity for the last four years. Nitin has worked extensively in the USA for fortune 500 company and helped them designing Sox compliance framework. He lead the team of consultants and designed IS security policies for them. He has also audited their various locations in US, UK, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, Australia etc.
 

Ajit Shelat, Director

Ajit joined the Electronic Business Equipment Division of Godrej and Boyce Ltd in 1982 and went on to hold various key positions later. In R&D some of the successes revolved around the development of networking products such as terminal servers, x-windows emulation package for PCs and a TCP/IP package for PCs.

Ajit set up Rimo Technologies in 1995, which was focused on services in the area of networking software and systems. It later teamed up with SwitchOn Networks in the USA and Ajit became a co-founder and CTO of SwitchOn Networking India. The team revolutionized the networking/ security industry came by developing a high performance packet classification engine. Ajit and his group have held five patents in the USA on packet classification.

SwitchOn was acquired by PMC-Sierra, a leading communication and networking chip organization, for $ 450 million. This was hailed as one of the largest takeovers in the country.

Manu Parpia, Advisor

Manu's experience in the engineering industry spans over 24 years. He began his career as an engineer with Humphrey’s & Glasgow. On completion of his MBA, he was with the Harvard Business School as an Associate Fellow. He set up First Financial Compuserve Pvt. Ltd., with the objective of using computers in the area of finance.

For the next seven years, he worked as a consultant to Godrej & Boyce, while simultaneously managing First Financial. At Godrej & Boyce, he was responsible for initiating product development of electronic typewriters, printers and CAD/CAM software. He then set up the Electronic Business Equipment division of Godrej & Boyce, and was its CEO.

Recognizing the changes in the competitive environment, he restructured the division, and the software activity was spun off as Geometric Software Services Co. Ltd. in July 1994. He has been the Managing Director of Geometric since its inception. His areas of specialization include international marketing and business development, business strategy and commercialization of technology

Manu is a bachelor in Chemical Engineering and later studied management at the Harvard Business School.
